چکیده
Introduction: Zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures are second most common facial injuries. These fracture managed either by open reduction with rigid fixation or conservatively. Objective: To compare infra orbital nerve outcome in zygomaticomaxillary treated surgically and Methodology: The current randomized controlled trial study was carried out at Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Sandeman Provincial Hospital/Bolan Medical College Quetta from 23/04/2018 to 22/10/2018 after the synopsis approval. Total sample size calculated 100. 50 patients Group-A were internal technique Group-B conservatively without any intervention. All data recorded a specialized proforma for this study. Data analysis done SPSS. Results: overall mean age (SD) of patient’s 36.2±7.1 years. Most (n=64, 64.0%) 31-45 years old. male our 65 (65.0%) whereas female participants 35 (35.0%). For detection mechanical threshold, proportion sensations 3cm filament length significantly lower who underwent surgical treatment (78.0% vs. 100.0%; p-value<0.001) as compared It also 5cm 7cm comparison (p-value≤0.05). heat sensation 32°C no different between (p-value=0.529). However, 35oC (64.0% 37oc (90.0% p-value=0.022) patients. Pain threshold (1.26±0.44 1.58±0.49; conservative treatment. Conclusion: In fractures, superior than those which advocates evading unnecessary intervention such cases future practice. Keywords: Complex Fractures, Conservative Treatment, Infra Orbital Nerve

The functional outcome of surgically treated unstable pelvic ring fractures by open reduction, internal fixation
Abstract Background: Unstable Pelvic fracture, a result of high energy antero-posterior compression injury, has been managed based on internal fixation and open reduction. The mode of fixation in Unstable Pelvic fracture has, however, been a subject of controversy and some authors have proposed a need to address the issue of partial breach of the pelvic ring elements in these injuries. This st...
متن کاملFunctional outcome in conservatively treated non-displaced scaphoid fractures
Purpose: This study evaluated the functional outcome after conservative treatment of non-displaced scaphoid fractures using an international validated outcome scale (DASH). Methods and materials: Between 2005 and 2010, 60 patients with a non-displaced scaphoid fracture were included. When a patient visited the emergency department and was clinically suspected of a scaphoid fracture radiography ...
متن کاملInfraorbital nerve transpositioning into orbital floor: a modified technique to minimize nerve injury following zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures
OBJECTIVES Transpositioning of the inferior alveolar nerve to prevent injury in lower jaw has been advocated for orthognathic, pre-prosthetic and for implant placement procedures. However, the concept of infra-orbital nerve repositioning in cases of mid-face fractures remains unexplored. The infraorbital nerve may be involved in trauma to the zygomatic complex which often results in sensory dis...
متن کاملFunctional outcomes of conservatively treated clavicle fractures
OBJECTIVE The main aim of the study was to analyze the outcomes of clavicle fractures in adults treated non-surgically and to evaluate the clinical effects of displacement, fracture patterns, fracture location, fracture comminution, shortening and fracture union on shoulder function. METHODS Seventy clavicle fractures were non-surgically treated in the Orthopedics Department at the Tuanku Ja'...
متن کاملShort-term Results of Robinson Type 2B2 Clavicular Fractures Treated Conservatively or Surgically.
The most frequently treated injuries, representing approximately 82% of all clavicular fractures, involve the midshaft clavicle. Historically, most acute displaced midshaft clavicular fractures were treated nonsurgically. However, the outcomes of nonsurgical treatment have recently been thought to be not as good as expected in the past, and the trend is to treat these fractures surgically. The ...
